Books are seen as cultural objects. For some of the work I make (though not all) I like to see them first and foremost simply as objects; made in a particular way from particular kinds of stuff.
I hope that by working in this way I might be able to say something about how we understand the nature of meaning; how we understand the world through received wisdom (the book) and how we understand theworld on a much more direct experiential level.
Being interested in these two things is perhaps why all the approaches I take are quite physical.
